Rob Gronkowskithe former tight end for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is seeking redemption after missing last year’s “Kick of Destiny,” presented by FanDuel. Gronkowski attempted a 25-yard field goal in the middle of the Arizona desert during Super Bowl LVII, but was unsuccessful.

FanDuel is back with the Gronkowski’s “Kick of Destiny 2” for the second year in a row and they have released a promotional video of him training for the upcoming kick. In the advertisement, Gronkowski is haunted by his missed field goal from Super Bowl LVII, and with the help of the late Carl Weathers, he prepares for another chance. Despite the doubters, like John Cena, Gronkowski is determined to make the kick.

How the “Kick of Destiny 2” bet works

To participate, you only need to place a $5 bet on whether he will make it or miss it. Those who correctly pick the outcome will receive a share of the 10 million bonus bets that will be split with other bettors who made the correct pick.

Gronkowski will then attempt a field goal live during a commercial break during Super Bowl LVIII, with the timing of the exact commercial break unknown.

Who is Rob Gronkowski?

The New England Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski as the 42nd pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Gronkowski achieved three Super Bowl victories with the Patriots and was honored with five Pro Bowl selections, four First-Team All-Pro honors, and the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.

In 2019, Gronkowski retired from the NFL but later returned to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his former teammate, Tom Brady. He won his fourth Super Bowl title with the Buccaneers in 2021 and officially retired from the NFL in 2022.

In his 11-year NFL career, Gronkowski amassed over 9,200 receiving yards, caught 621 passes and scored 92 touchdowns.
