River Plate: Demichelis loses Borja but recovers Solari and Echeverri | Leaves and returns with a view to the Superclásico on date 7

The River Plate coach, Martín Demichelis, who will not be able to count on Miguel Borja due to a muscle injury, instead recovered Pablo Solari and Claudio Echeverri who trained this Friday ahead of the match against Banfield on Sunday, on the date prior to the Superclásico .

Solari and Diablito Echeverri joined the work at the River Camp, after participating in the Pre-Olympic Tournament, and they will be part of the squad list that will be announced tomorrow after training and the team’s concentration. .

Solari could start up front alongside Facundo Colidio, after confirming yesterday the muscle injury in Colombian Borja’s left adductor that will leave him out of the match against Banfield and, possibly, the match on February 25 against Boca.

The training was Solari’s first of the year with the group, because he was in the initial call for the Pre-Olympic list to which Echeverri later joined after a few days of preseason in the United States with the squad.

Both players arrive with match rhythm since in the case of Solari he was a starter for the Argentine team that qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after eliminating Brazil, with 442 minutes in seven games. Echeverri, for his part, reached 241 minutes in half a dozen presentations.

For their part, both Manuel Lanzini and Matias Kranevitter continue to add physical demands but they did not receive medical clearance and it is expected that next week, before the Superclásico, they will have a couple of soccer practices in order to be called up.

The two players who were going to start in this tournament suffered muscle injuries in the days before the start of the League Cup and with the match against Banfield included, they have been absent for six dates and will arrive at the Boca match with a month of inactivity.

Lanzini and Kranevitter continued this morning on the list of the medical report to which Borja was added, who did light kinesthetic tasks with Santiago Simón who is doing an aerobic routine due to the fracture in his hand.

As for the team to play on Sunday, central defenders Paulo Díaz and Leandro González Pírez are expected to return to the starting lineup and doubt remains about Esequiel Barco after disobeying Demichelis on penalties against Atlético Tucumán.

Thus, a possible 11 would be with: Franco Armani, Andres Herrera, Gonzalez Perez, Paulo Diaz and Enzo Diaz; Rodrigo Aliendro, Nicholas Fonseca, Ignacio Fernandez and Barco or Mastantuono; Collidius and Solari or Augustine Robert.

River, which remains the leader of zone A with 11 points like Instituto, receives Banfield from 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, which has just tied without goals against Barracas and is second to last with only a couple of points and no wins.

New Formative Football structure

The River Plate leadership made the club’s new youth football structure official with the presentation of its sports director Hermes Desio, from the Renato Cesarini school, who began the new stage of the youth teams this year.

Desio’s main work team will be made up of Jorge Desio, methodology coordinator, Fabio Radaelli, recruitment director, Hernán Díaz, coordinator of the major categories, and Juan Aguilar, coordinator of the minor categories.

Present at the presentation were Martín Demichelis, one of the managers for the arrival of Dessio, whom he has known since his days as Renato Cesarini, vice Matías Patanian, Enzo Francescoli and Hernán Vázquez, president of Fútbol Formativo.

During the event, Patanian assured: “To talk about River’s training divisions is to talk about something very precious, it is to talk about that River gene that gives us pride and that generates so much admiration in the world. For this gene to flourish there is a lot of work behind it ”.

While Desio said that “I am happy to be here. When River calls you, the answer is very easy because you know what it means, we know where we are, what is expected of us and for that I thank my team and also the club authorities”.
