“I liked what I saw at the beginning of the season,” Antonio told Sky Sports. “People only judge a striker based on his goals, but it’s not just about that, but also what you bring to the team. He brings physicality, he can get people involved, he’s a passionate runner and now he’s scored,” he said.
The English striker also assessed that the goal scored by Hojlund was done in a very high quality manner. On the other hand, he admits that as a striker, people always want to see players scoring goals and there will be times when that doesn’t happen. However, as long as you believe in yourself and know that you will get another opportunity and take advantage of it, the player will continue to progress.
“That’s the most important thing, being able to control yourself and believing that you are good enough to do it. He wouldn’t be in the situation he is in now at United if he couldn’t score goals,” said Antonio.
