Everything remains to be done in the C1 round of 16 between PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Dortmund, after the draw in the first leg this Tuesday (1-1).

No winner between PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Dortmund. Played on Tuesday evening at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven (Netherlands), the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League ended in a draw (1-1).

In the collective imagination, Dortmund is a better team, but in reality, PSV are given favorites. The figures go in the direction of the Dutch, invincible in the championship and (almost) unbeatable in all competitions combined. Having only experienced defeat twice, against Arsenal in C1 (4-0), and Feyenoord in the cup (1-0), Peter Bosz and his men have confidence with them, but do not convert it into an advantage from the start of the match.

The locals launch the first offensives thanks to Bakayoko, Saibari and Lozano. But after two warm-up strikes, Malen smashed Walter Benitez’s cage to open the scoring against his former club (23rd). A few missed Dutch chances later, the two teams returned to the locker room, and Borussia led at the break.

Back on the field, the Boeren continue to push and will be rewarded. Borussia fell back and Eindhoven took advantage, pushing Hummels, who had been impeccable until then, to make a mistake in his area. Mr. Jovanovic grants a more than questionable penalty to the Dutchman and De Jong takes care of it, and equalizes (55th).

During the rest of the game, the offensive players did their best to break the German barrier. In vain. Neither team manages to regain the advantage, and the Serbian referee of the match ends the match with a logical tie. The answer and the outcome of this round of 16 first leg will therefore be played at Signal Iduna Park on March 13.
