PSSI Still Searching for New Technical Director: German Candidate Desired

Jakarta – The position of PSSI Technical Director is currently still vacant. Because Indra Sjafri was given the task of handling the Indonesia U-20 squad. This position is considered vital because his task is to integrate football development programs in the country.

PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir, said that currently his party is still looking for a new Director of Technology. He had spoken to Indra regarding this matter.

“We’re still looking for it. Haven’t found it yet. I’ve talked to coach Indra that we will look for a Director of Technology to support coach Shin Tae-yong, coach Indra and coach Satoru,” said Erick.

Erick wants the Director of Technology position to be filled by someone who is intelligent in the field of football. Because later there will be lots of good ideas, and will have a positive impact in the future.

“The more smart people there are in Indonesian football, the better. Because we don’t yet have the right game formula,” added the man who also serves as Minister of BUMN.

Erick himself admitted that he wanted the Director of Technology position to be filled by a German. He did not explain the reason, but until now his party is still looking for the right person.

“I want to come from Germany, but we still haven’t met,” said Erick.

Indonesian U-20 National Team Coach Indra Sjafri

Erick’s words again strengthened the signal of interest in Frank Wortmuth. The former Bundesliga player was a consultant for Bima Sakti’s Indonesia U-17 team during their training camp in Germany.
