Prime Video announces the release of a documentary on Roger Federer

Prime Video announces the release of a documentary chronicling the last 12 days of Roger Federer’s career. The film will be released exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries.

Directed by Oscar-winning director Asif Kapadia and co-director Joe Sabia, this is an intimate account of the final 12 days of Roger Federer’s illustrious career. Originally, this is an amateur video that was never intended for public viewing. The film shows Federer at his most vulnerable and candid, as he bids farewell to the game and the fans who have shaped his life over the past two decades. Punctuated by interviews with his legendary rivals and close friends, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, the film offers an unprecedented look at the relationship between these unrivaled stars.

“Initially, the idea was to capture the final moments of my professional tennis career so that I could later show them to my family and friends,” Federer said. “During my career, I tended to avoid cameras around me and my family, especially during important moments. But this time it was different, it wasn’t for the public. However, we captured so many highlights, that it turned into a deeply personal journey. I am happy to partner with Prime Video because of their international reach and importance in the film industry. Thus, the story of the last days of my tennis career will be able to resonate with tennis fans and the general public throughout the world. »

Presented by Prime Video, the documentary on Roger Federer is a Lafcadia Productions production. The film is produced by Asif Kapadia and George Chignell, and directed by Kapadia and Joe Sabia.
