PGA Tour Taylor and Novak leaders, day without playing for Perez

On the night of Friday to Saturday, the second round of the WM Phoenix Open, in Arizona, began. Nick Taylor, buoyed by a record round of 60, and Andrew Novak, had time to take the reins of a tournament still interrupted by night. For his part, Victor Perez was unable to start his second round.

Clearly, the start of this Phoenix Open is considerably disrupted by the weather conditions. Disrupted by frost on Friday morning, the tournament was later interrupted due to lack of light caused by nightfall. Thus, 32 players, including Victor Perez, did not even have the opportunity to start their second round. After returning a card of 74 on Thursday, the Frenchman (111th, +3) had a blank day and will have a lot to do to make the cut, for the moment, projected at -1.

At the top of the rankings, Nick Taylor particularly stood out, equaling the TPC Scottsdale course record during the first round. On fire, the Canadian signed a sublime score of 60 (eleven birdies, no errors) to take the leader’s chair. Less comfortable subsequently, the winner of the RBC Canadian Open in 2023 still concluded his second round below par, in 70 shots (two birdies, one bogey) and managed to maintain the lead (-12 total ). However, he was joined at the top of the leaderboard by Andrew Novak. More consistent, the American recorded two records of 65.
