Paris Judo Grand Slam Celebrates 50th Edition with Record-Breaking Participation

For its 50th edition, the Paris tournament, which became a Grand Slam in 2009, boasts an exceptional participation of some 620 judokas representing 107 countries and 5 continents. So much so that the Grand Slam is no longer spread over two, but three days this year. It promises a crazy atmosphere until Sunday in the thrill machine that is the Accor Arena since the biggest judo tournament in the world moved there in 2000. It was the year of the Sydney Games. Twenty-four years later, the Olympic Games are still on the horizon but with an additional dimension for the French since they will be held in Paris, from July 27 to August 3 for judo, not in the Bercy Arena but in that of the Champ de Mars.
