Pardubice: From a Rough English Week to Seven Points

Pardubice turned a rough English week into seven points. Coach Radoslav Kováč’s team may have secretly thought that after two wins they would turn the aforementioned mission into a full point gain against Teplice, but in the end the coach accepted a 1:1 draw. “It’s a shame about the goal, it was a stupid time,” said Kováč, regretting that Pardubice conceded the equalizer in the end.

Kováč is said to have sensed immediately after the kick-off that his charges would not be ideal. “From the first minute we were half a step behind, we didn’t have the best feet, we didn’t have the momentum,” the coach noticed.

The team had a difficult week. “Fatigue really showed, the boys played on the edge. We blew up seven points in the end. We take the point, as well as seven points from three games.” he added and thanked the club’s management that Pardubice could travel to the match at the opponents’ ground a day earlier. “It wasn’t here before” replied Kováč, saying that the duel in Karviná was challenging for his charges from a psychological and physical point of view.

When the Pardubice coach felt the need to freshen up the lineup and add fresh strength, he reacted immediately. Fullback Mareš left the game after only 26 minutes of the game. “I reached for it. It wasn’t his best day but he’s a young lad, next time will be better for sure. I had to do it, it stank of a penalty, Mary was not well. If I left him there, I’d just kill him more.” stated Kováč, saying that the entire team worked the match and every point counts.

The Pardubice club also took a fan as a reward to the press conference, who was the only one in the visitors’ sector during the duel in Karviná. “Mr. Pepík, great respect,” coach Kováč bowed to the fan.
