Framed in Group A of the competition, Motero achieves a balance of one victory and one defeat in the group stage matches. His rivals, the Egyptian Tarek Abbas Gharib Zahry, whom he defeated 21-11 / 21-10 and the Korean, number 1 seed, with whom he lost 14-21 / 7-21.
