Tour de Ski shrinks to two stops in Italy

The Tour de Ski in cross-country skiing will only take place next winter in the two Italian locations of Toblach and Val di Fiemme. In its early days from 2006, the stage race was held in four countries at five locations, but in recent years there have been fewer and fewer. According to FIS, the reduction to just two stations in Italy is due to sustainability reasons.

The 19th edition around the turn of the year 2024/25 includes seven stages. A planned Three Peaks race on New Year’s Eve should only take place if there is enough natural snow. As usual, the last stage leads to Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme, where the last three days will include running on the new Olympic routes at Lago di Tesero.
