Ostrava – Bohemians 1:1, Bohemians won a draw in Ostrava in ten minutes

Baník won only one of the last five rounds and failed to win at home in the top flight for the sixth time in a row. Today, in front of his own audience, he at least scored points after a series of four losses and remained fifth in the incomplete table. The “kangaroos” have not won in the league for the seventh time in a row, they have drawn in four of the last five duels and are tenth.

According to the assumptions, Slezan actively attacked their opponent, but they conquered his defense quite laboriously. Optically, Ostrava had the upper hand, but they had to wait half an hour for a clear opportunity. And there was a goal right away: the home team quickly combined in the penalty area and Buchta finished the action with a stop after Reichl had been thrown. He scored his sixth of the league season and is only one goal short of Ewerton’s top scorer duo, Tanko.

At the same time as the goal, the home team lost Ewerton, who had to leave the pitch with a muscle injury. After arriving on the pitch, Tanko ran away from the defense after a few seconds and beat Valeš, but his goal was disallowed due to offside.

The home team had one more chance before the break, but even though Buchta was already alone in front of the goalkeeper, he chose another unnecessary pass, which the visitors kicked away.

The Vrsovič team made a change in goal in the second half, and the injured Reichl was replaced by Valeš. And soon they had the perfect opportunity to equalize. After the intervention of the video referee, a penalty was awarded, but Letáček kicked Hybš after an hour of the game.

A few minutes later, VAR re-entered the action of the match and this time Ostrava benefited from it; substitute Puškáč was sent off after less than 10 minutes on the pitch for hitting Jurošek’s face.

However, the dominance of one player in the field was not visible at all. Baník took a short breather for the onslaught, but Tank’s point-blank attempt ended up on the post, and in the 72nd minute, Blažka’s volley could not be used again due to offside.

The Praguers were dangerous even when weakened. Substitute Huf first let Letáček stand out, who headed his attempt over. However, from the following corner, one of the visiting players extended the ball at the front post and Huf scored with a header at the back post. Together with Brno’s Řezníček, the top scorer of the autumn part of the second league (in the Chrudimi jersey) made his mark in the top competition for the first time since last April. “Kangaroos” continue to have the league’s worst attack with 18 goals.

In the end, Ostrava tried to press, but there were already enough spasms and inaccuracies, and the guests defended the point without complications. Since October 2017, Baník has not lost in 13 consecutive matches in the league with Bohemians, but three of the last four mutual matches ended in a draw.
