Mathias Beck, the new president of Eintracht Frankfurt, talks in an interview about real estate projects, new ways to grow members, moving away from paper work – and his dog.
We heard that you wanted to become Eintracht president since you were a child: is that true?
My mother wrote me a long letter for my birthday. In it she noted that even as a child I talked about wanting to one day become president of Eintracht Frankfurt or stadium announcer. My classmates also called me after my election and said: ‘Man, you already told us back then that you wanted to be president. We never believed you, but you really stuck with it’. But that’s my DNA. Whoever sees my company: constant commitment and always asking yourself where you are and where you want to go, that’s my style. In the end, anything is possible if you develop passion and put in the effort.
