Just one week after finishing the 2024 All-Star in Indiana, the NBA has signed what will be its next three locations. According to apuntan Shams Charania and Mike Vorkunov pair The AthleticSan Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix will host the event in 2025, 26 and 27 respectively.
Since the arrival of Matt Ishbia to the ownership of the Suns, the league is giving several nods to the franchise. Among them, the celebration of the WNBA All-Star of this same 2024. But also the inauguration of its G League affiliate, which will complete the 30 organizations in the development league.
And if Phoenix is the market that is bidding to be the ‘nouveau riche’, Los Angeles and San Francisco are the most thriving in the country. Lakers and Warriors are, respectively, the third and first most valued franchises in the entire NBA. With the Knicks sneaking into second place according to the latest estimates from Forbes.
Curiously, all three venues belong to the Western Conference, making up for the East’s streak between 2019 and 2022 (Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta and Cleveland). It will be the fourth time that the event will be held in Phoenix (first since 2009), the sixth in Los Angeles (the previous one was in 2018) and the first in San Francisco, although Oakland hosted it in 2000.
The big news is that the 2026 event will not be held at the Lakers’ home, but at the Intuit Dome that the Clippers will open for that same 2025-26 season. It will also be the first All-Star Weekend hosted by the Warriors’ Chase Center, which opened in 2019.
