MU Meets Liverpool in the FA Cup, Ten Hag: A Good Challenge

Manchester

Manchester United will face Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Erik ten Hag called it a good challenge in his team’s mission to win the trophy.

Manchester United advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 at The City Ground, Thursday (29/2/2024) early morning WIB. Casemiro’s single goal brought MU to challenge Liverpool, who advanced after beating Southampton 3-0.

The success of advancing to the quarter-finals maintains MU’s hopes of ending the season with a trophy. This is practically the ‘Red Devils’ only chance to redeem the season, because they are scattered in the Premier League and have been eliminated in the Champions League and English League Cup.

“This means a lot, we want to win every competition we take part in. The team fought, showed determination, passion and desire to win. They showed it today, we were disappointed after last Saturday’s result, but we showed resilience,” said MU Manager Erik ten Hag quoted Sky Sports.

But the closer you get to the trophy, the more difficult the challenge will be. Liverpool will be the next opponent.

MU’s big rival is under great motivation after winning the English League Cup and is determined to give the best farewell gift to Juergen Klopp. They have the ambition to win the quadruple, with three other trophies being pursued, namely the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.

Ten Hag did not deny that the match against Liverpool was a big test of his team’s abilities, in their mission to win the FA Cup.

“There are many good teams in the Premier League, Liverpool are at the top of the standings, so this is a very good challenge for us. We are now looking forward to Sunday’s match (against Manchester City),” he added.

MU will face Manchester City in a derby in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (3/3/2024).
