We know it, Christian Burgess is teasing on the networks. A few days before the semi-final return against Bruges, he joked during the farmers’ demonstrations in Brussels: “The Bruges supporters arrived a little early in the capital”, he wrote. The English defender was referring to the nickname of the people of Bruges, namely the “boeren” – the farmers.
Following this sting, Burgess was copiously insulted in private. He took the time to respond to his detractors after qualifying for the final this Wednesday evening…
