“Know and Win” Celebrates 27 Years with Special Contest and All-Star Participants

“Know and win”, the veteran TVE contest, wants to choose the best contestant of 2023 and will do so with a special series of ten programs – the first of which aired yesterday – in which the seven “know-it-alls” who will take part will take part. They earned more than 7,000 euros in their participations last year. And there will be Adrián Macía from Aviles, with 63 programs behind him, in which he achieved an accumulated score of 36,260 euros.

The specials, in addition to being a formula for success for “Know and Win” – that of catching the smartest ones – will also be the way to celebrate in a special way the 27th anniversary of the contest presented by Jordi Hurtado, the most long-lived on Spanish television and a myth among fans of these knowledge programs.

Adrián Macía, historic former Oviedo Baloncesto player – where he played with his brother Héctor and was captain for many years – and employee at Saint-Gobain, only slightly showed his nose at the La 2 contest yesterday, as he participated in the general presentation of the candidates and in a unique test, but the greatest weight will be today, when they will participate throughout the broadcast.

Macía’s television experience began in 2019 in the program “Boom!”, the first contest he attended precisely with his brother and two friends, and continued with “The Hunter”, until finishing last year in “Saber y Ganar” . “I think I made the reverse journey, because almost the normal thing is to start with ‘Know and win’, but for me this is the biggest prey to hunt. It is a benchmark competition,” says Macía. That they have called him now for this special edition of the program has made him “totally excited” and he has taken it as another opportunity “to fully enjoy a party like this anniversary.”

And if it turns out to be “supermagnificent”, well, honey over flakes. It will be much more than he had anticipated when she signed up to go on television “just with the expectation of seeing a little bit of what it was like.” An experience that recommends “if you don’t like watching TV…”.

As reported by TVE, in the first phase of this special meeting each contestant will participate three times without repeating their opponent; The three with the highest scores will advance to the final phase – of three programs – with their score at zero. The contestant who accumulates the most points in the final phase will become the “Supermagnificent of 2023” and will be able to rejoin the daily editions of “Know and Win”.

There is another special addition to these programs, and that is that with its questions the contest will pay tribute to two emblematic personalities who died last year: the actress Concha Velasco and the cartoonist Francisco Ibáñez.

Likewise, “Know and win” will include in these special questions about the protagonists of the most notable anniversaries of 2024, such as the bicentennial of the death of the British poet Lord Byron and the centenary of the death of the writer Franz Kafka, who will be the great protagonist of the final duels.

“Know and win” celebrated 27 years of uninterrupted broadcast last Saturday, February 17. Presented by Jordi Hurtado, along with Elisenda Roca and Pilar Vázquez, this contest is the longest running on Spanish television and the most watched program on La 2.

In addition to Adrián Macía, the six remaining “magnificent” who will fight to be “super” are: Madrid’s Malen Potenciano, a family doctor in Cuenca, who achieved 39,420 euros in 78 programs; the Santander opponent with training in History Jairo Fernández, who participated in 34 programs and achieved 18,410 euros; retired Barcelona professor Jesús Llop, graduate in Classical Philology, who obtained 12,050 euros over 29 programs; Bruno Rogero from Madrid, social integrator, who took home 10,790 euros after competing in 25 programs; Biel Copons, the youngest “magnificent”, a medical student and native of Sabadell (Barcelona), who in 24 programs achieved 8,800 euros, and the Burgos architect Ana Santamaría, who has already won 7,370 euros in 17 programs.
