“Ķekava Bulldogs” wins bronze in the age group ZU18 tournament
“Ķekava Bulldogs” floorball players became the bronze medalists of the Latvian Children and Youth Floorball Championship in the age group ZU18 tournament, who beat their peers from the “Bauskas BJSS” team 12:9 today at the Kocēni Sports House. The most productive among the winners with 4 (2+2) points was Patriks Zvejnieks.
Mārtiņš Hertmanis (1:0) opened the match in Kocēni for the bronze medal in the 5th minute. After only four (!) seconds, Deniss Afanasjevs from Bauška responded with a goal – 1:1. During the following eight minutes, “Ķekava Bulldogs” players Hertmanis, Emil Kaš and Sven Balodis scored a goal each, putting their team in the lead with 4:1. The Kekavians successfully defended this three-goal advantage in the subsequent course of the fight. After the first period, “Ķekavas Bulldogs” were in the lead with 6:3, after the second – with 9:6, but they celebrated the victory with 12:9 throughout the game, for which they received bronze medals of the Latvian Championship.
The most productive among the winners with 4 (2+2) points was Patriks Zvejnieks, 3 (2+1) points were collected by Mārtiņš Hertmanis and Svens Balodis, and 2 (1+1) points by Ričards Orste, Elvis Kaķis and Roberts Penegs, but the best player award was given to Emil Kas, who scored one goal. Denys Afanasjeva was recognized as the best in “Bauskas BJSS”, who also scored one goal. The most productive in his team was Ralfs Akmentiņš with 5 (3+2) points, 4 (3+1) points for Valdis Valters Vanagas, and 3 (2+1) points for Nik Daniel Bosakov.
