Karolina Pliskova Ends Four-Year Title Drought with WTA Tournament Victory

Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova celebrated her first tournament victory in four years.

The former number one in the world rankings won the WTA tournament in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and in the final she defeated local hero Ana Bogdan, seeded number eight, 6:4, 6:3.

For Pliskova it is the 17th WTA singles title of her career. The two-time Grand Slam finalist achieved her last triumph to date in January 2020 in Brisbane.
