Jayson Tatum Leads Boston Celtics to Victory Over Brooklyn Nets

Jayson Tatum scored 41 points in addition to capturing 14 rebounds, and the Boston Celtics achieved their fifth victory by beating the Brooklyn Nets, 118-110.

Jaylen Brown added 19 points for the Celtics, who improved to 42-12.

Tatum tied his career-high in points in a first half with 31, and the Celtics led comfortably for much of it despite playing without Kristaps Porzingis due to a lower back contusion.

Dominican Al Horford replaced Pozringis in the lineup and produced 16 points, going 6 of 6 from the field. Derrick White also scored 16, and Jrue Holiday added 14 points and 12 assists as the Celtics won their sixth straight in Brooklyn.

Mikal Bridges had 27 points, and Cam Thomas added 26 for the Nets, who have suffered their fourth setback in five games.

IN ORLANDO, Jalen Williams added 33 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 32, in addition to dishing out five assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Orlando Magic 127-113.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 13 points during a five-minute stretch of the third period, in which the Thunder took control of the game, played on the night Orlando retired Shaquille O’Neal’s number 32.

Chet Holmgren had 13 points, nine rebounds and five blocks for the Thunder.

Paolo Banchero led Orlado with 23 points and 10 assists. Wendell Carter Jr. finished with 22 points and seven rebounds.

Jonathan Isaac opened the fourth quarter with a dunk that brought Orlando within 92-84.

In another result of the day, the Miami Heat beat the Milwaukee Bucks 123-97.—AP
