The group of young Italian players involved in this 2024 season at various levels in the vast universe of US colleges is as numerous as ever, testifying to the goodness of this choice as a personal growth on and off the diamond, also thanks to the boost certainly of the ever-increasing involvement and interest of the “FIBS College Pipeline” project in collaboration with the Italian American Baseball Foundation. It is worth remembering that in the recent past, among others, Federico Castagnini, Nicolò Loardi, Maurizio Andretta, Matteo Bocchi and Giulio Monello have been leading the way, who have benefited greatly from their experience, of various lengths, in American colleges.
While waiting, in mid-February, for the start of the 2024 season in the NCAA Division I where the Macerata native Lorenzo Morresi and the Italian-Canadian Alessandro Volpe will be engaged respectively with the Texas San Antonio and Lindenwood jerseys, the Bollate native has already highlighted himself Daniel Monti with Sonoma State in NCAA Division II and Samuele Bruno from Nettuno, fresh from joining BBC Grosseto, wearing the uniform of the RoadRunners of College of Desert Junior College.

Daniel Monti was decisive with a home run and a 2 for 3 in the box in his SeaWolves’ first clear 14-1 victory over Simpson College, while the outfielder seen last year in the Godo jersey started 3 of the 4 games, all defeats, played so far by College of Desert totaling 2 hits out of 6 appearances in the box.
