Injury Concerns for ASSE: Moueffek and Briançon Sidelined

Saturday was close to perfect. A big victory for the runners-up (3-0) and favorable results which allowed them to enter the Top 5. The only downside for ASSE was the injury-related outings of Aïmen Moueffek and Anthony Briançon.

Two injured starters

THE AXIS took place against Angers last Saturday. A great victory against the previously undefeated Angevins at home. In addition to the result and the performance of the Stéphanois, two greens had to leave the pitch due to injury.

This is particularly the case of Aimen Moueffek. Replaced in the 15th minute, the Moroccan international hopeful was injured in the thigh. Pain that occurred after a collision with Angevin Joseph Loppy. The Saint-Etienne staff took no risks with Aïmen Moueffek by replacing him with Florian Tardieu. His medical history calls for the greatest caution.

Later in the match, Anthony Briançon also gave up his place. Replaced by Dylan Batubinsika in the 70th minute, the captain seemed well affected on the Saint-Etienne bench.

Dall’Oglio doesn’t want to take any risks

Olivier Dall’Oglio (ASSE) spoke after the victory. He discussed the situation of the two players:

“Moueffek had to give up his place. We can’t afford to have long-term injuries. We lost Wadji… When there is an injured person, it’s not very good, but others players are there to compensate for these absences.

For Aïmen Moueffek, the pain was on the thigh, above the attachment, I think he did well to go out, it could get worse. Anthony Briançon felt a little alarm, we preferred not to take any risks. There are also boys capable of taking over and they did it very well today.”

No word yet regarding the seriousness of the injuries in question. As a reminder, Thomas Monconduit is already unavailable for Saturday as he will serve his suspension.
