Brazil manager Dorival Junior has ruled Liverpool’s Alisson, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Joao Pedro, and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha out of his side’s upcoming international friendlies.
Alisson, 31, sustained a hamstring injury in training. His manager Jurgen Klopp said: “That’s a muscle injury where we don’t know exactly how long it takes, but definitely not for the foreseeable time coming back.”
Pedro, 22, has missed Brighton’s last two Premier League games, while Cunha, 24, sustained a hamstring injury during his side’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford earlier this month.
Dorival Junior, who was named Brazil manager in January, said: “In particular, some players who had slightly more serious injuries, such as Alisson, Matheus Cunha, Joao Pedro, and even Neymar, are totally removed from any possibility at this moment.”
Brazil will face England at Wembley on March 23 and Spain on March 26.
