New York (dpa) – German basketball national player Isaiah Hartenstein has lost another game in the NBA after nine wins in a row with the New York Knicks.
The Knicks had to admit defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers around superstar LeBron James 105:113 (59:59). No team in the North American Basketball League has recently had more wins in a row.
James became the Lakers’ best scorer with 24 points, but the match winner was Austin Reaves: the American international scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, which the Lakers won 33:19. Hartenstein scored six points and grabbed a team-most 15 rebounds. The Knicks slipped to fourth place in the Eastern Conference due to the defeat, and the Lakers, ninth in the West, have to continue to fight for playoff participation.
Maxi Kleber also suffered a home defeat with the Dallas Mavericks – despite a personal season best of 21 points. The Texans lost 117:129 (65:60) against the Milwaukee Bucks. Stephen Curry provided the most outstanding performance: The Golden State Warriors superstar scored 60 points in the away game at the Atlanta Hawks, the sixth most by a player this season. Nevertheless, the Warriors lost out 134:141 (64:64, 123:123) after overtime. 14 seconds before the end of the fourth quarter, Curry had given the Warriors a 123:121 lead, and in return the guests conceded the equalizer. The Hawks opened overtime with an 11-0 run to take a decisive lead.
