The UTS circuit has its stop this weekend in Oslo (Norway). Well, one of the attractions of the tournament, Gael Monfils, has been unable to participate.
The Frenchman, 70th in the ranking at 37 years old, married and with a son with fellow tennis player Elina Svitolina, was joking on Friday with the supervisor, Stephane Apostolou, until accidentally causing him an injury.
The organization later clarified in a statement that Gael had been removed “for violent conduct toward the supervisor.”
The rules of the competition are clear and Monfils was automatically disqualified from an event organized by Patrick Mouratoglou. It was his compatriot Lucas Pouille who came on to play against fellow Frenchman Benoit Paire. On the poster there are other prominent names on the tennis scene such as Holger Rune and Casper Ruud.
