They will run by Saturday instead of Sunday the first two races of of the Formula 1 season which will be held in Bahrain e Saudi Arabia. In fact, F1 has decided to bring forward the scheduling of both stages by one day respect Ramadan. Therefore the first two stages of the Circus will not see races on Sunday but only on Saturday, given that by regulation a week must pass between two races.
March 10th begins Ramadan, and believers are preparing to experience one of the most important religious moments for Islamic culture – which follows the phases of the moon and therefore has changing dates. During this period the faithful have theobligation to observe daytime fasting which is also one of the five pillars of Islam, except for pregnant women, the elderly and the sick. This also has consequences not indifferent on sports practices and for this reason it was decided to make changes to the 2024 World Championship calendar. Hence the decision: the race will take place in Bahrain Saturday 2 Marchwhile in Saudi Arabia the following Saturday, 9 March. On 75 other occasions the Formula 1 calendar has derogated from Sunday races, the last time was in Las Vegas last November, even if for commercial rather than religious reasons: in Italy it was the morning of Sunday the 19th but in the USA it was late night on Saturday 18 November.
