Football transfer ticker: Eintracht Frankfurt lends PSG striker Ekitike

Shortly before the end of the transfer deadline, the Bundesliga soccer team Eintracht Frankfurt still a striker Hugo Ekitike from the French master Paris Saint Germain obligated. The offensive man will initially be loaned out until the end of the season. The Hessians then have a purchase option, as they announced on Thursday evening. As the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe” and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had previously reported, it should be around 30 million euros. Ekitike was already an issue at the Hessians in the summer when Randal Kolo Muani moved to PSG at short notice. The 21-year-old Frenchman is under contract in Paris until 2027, but has hardly been used this season. In the league, Ekitike was only used on the first matchday and recently he was no longer in the squad.

“Hugo is a young player who has already demonstrated his great potential,” said Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche. “We are happy that the transfer worked given our economic conditions. Of course we will give him the time he needs to arrive.”
