Football: “The comments were outrageous”, Aulas reacts to the insults of a technician in D1 Arkema

The cameraman’s insults do not get through to the FFF. Saturday February 10, Guingamp hosted Fleury for the 15th day of women’s D1. The victory of the Bretons (3-1) was overshadowed by the inappropriate behavior of an FFF technician, present with his camera to broadcast the match.

In the pouring rain, the cameraman had no protection for his equipment, which annoyed him. For ten minutes, the latter expressed his frustration by insulting the Breton club several times. We have thus heard him complain on several occasions about a “shit club”, about a city that he hates and where he will never set foot again, multiplying the swear words and “anything”. and ask a colleague to warn that “the equipment is ruined”. In response, En Avant asked the federation that he and his production company were no longer commissioned to cover championship matches.

“The comments were outrageous,” admitted Jean-Michel Aulas, former owner of Olympique Lyonnais. The one who will occupy the post of president of the Women’s Football League has, however, sent a message to Guingamp and the other D1 teams.

“The license allocated to clubs imposes precise technical structures. Clubs must comply by the end of the year or not receive this license and the subsidies with it. Everyone must control their emotions and the clubs must also respect the arrangements,” he declared on the sidelines of the announcement of Hervé Renard’s list for the Nations League. A message directly addressed to Guingamp, because the technician’s tantrum at the Akademi stadium is the result of insufficient planning to guarantee that his equipment is not flooded by the rain.

This is not the first time that the broadcast of women’s championship matches has posed a problem for several years. In response, Footeuses, a media outlet that covers women’s football, published an open letter on X in January 2023 to denounce the conditions for broadcasting women’s D1 matches.
