Fitness: The bench press with the dumbbell

Finally swing the big dumbbells. They can also lift heavy weights when bench pressing. Just: Don’t get any momentum!

In the series “Our personal trainer” help us the Berlin fitness coach Sebastian Grüner to become stronger, healthier and more beautiful. After summarizing some of the most important exercises over the past few weeks, we have now sent Grüner into the studio again. This article is part of TIME on the weekendissue 08/2024.

If you want to show yourself or everyone else at the local gym what big dumbbells you can lift, we recommend this exercise. In contrast to many other dumbbell exercises, the bench press with the dumbbell allows you to lift really large weights – although you shouldn’t overdo it here either.
