FC Bayern Dominance in the Easycredit BBL: Who can stop them?

Who should stop these Bavarians?

In the Easycredit BBL, the FC Bayern basketball players are currently simply top! The 116:86 (61:43) against Syntainics MBC is the eleventh league win in a row! Bayern are chasing the record from the 19/20 season: there were 14 in a row.

Not there in Saxony-Anhalt: Serge Ibaka (34). The NBA champion is rested by Bayern coach Pablo Laso.

Because: On Tuesday (8 p.m., live on Dyn) there will be the top game against league leaders Chemnitz in the BMW Park. And the Final Four Cup tournament is coming up at the weekend – Dyn will broadcast the semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Ibaka has to be at full strength. Bayern are the defending champions and Ibaka is clear: “I’m here to win every title there is.”

Nice gesture: As with almost all away games this season, the three Bayern world champions were honored in advance at the MBC: There was wine for Isaac Bonga, Niels Giffey and Andi Obst.

Obst also received a silver pin from the Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt. World Cup hero Obst grew up near Weißenfels and threw his first baskets in Grandpa Dieter’s garden.

After the mega last-second win during the week in the Euroleague against Partizan Belgrade (79:78), Bayern continued in exactly the same way: full attack from the first second, no trace of slow pace. 32 points in the first quarter – Bonga, Obst and Giffey play the MBC dizzy. After twelve minutes, Bayern have 44 points. Bayern wide awake, the MBC defense in its Sunday nap.

Offensive fireworks from Bayern! 61 points in the first half – Bayern have never achieved that this season. Bayern’s Elias Harris during the break at Dyn: “It’s not easy. But we are alert, move the ball well and are stable defensively. The flow of the game works.”

Are Bayern taking a step back? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that. Bonga and Co are in a frenzy: things continue at full speed in the third quarter – they go into the fourth quarter with a 32-point lead. The victory is clear, but how big will it be? They didn’t crack the highest BBL win of all time from 1971 – Leverkusen won against Göttingen with 133:42. Ludwigsburg’s biggest win this season came against Crailsheim (106:59).

Andi Obst (top scorer with 25 points) at Dyn: “Just to enjoy. Now we have a very important week ahead of us.”

In the end it’s 116:86 – and the question is: Who else is going to stop these Bayern in the league? Leader Chemnitz? Resolution on Tuesday…
