Aaron Rodgers’ comeback season will begin in prime time as the New York Jets travel to the San Francisco 49ers to face the defending NFC champions on Sept. 9 on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” it was announced on Tuesday morning.

This is the second consecutive season in which Rodgers and the Jets will play a primetime game in Week 1. His debut with the Jets last September 11 turned into a season-altering disaster for the Jets, as the Four-time MVP tore his left Achilles tendon on the fourth snap and missed the rest of the season.

It was also announced on Tuesday that the Buffalo Bills will play the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, September 12 to open Week 2. The game will stream on Amazon Prime.
