Fabio Quartararo Achieves Promising Results for Yamaha at MotoGP Shakedown Test

Fabio Quartararo achieved quite good results together Yamaha on the first day of the Shakedown Test MotoGP in Sepang, Malaysia. Yamaha is said to be no longer afraid to try.

At the Sepang circuit, Tuesday (6/2/2024), Quartararo finished third on the first day of the MotoGP Shakedown test. He recorded a best time of one minute 57.446 seconds, only 0.173 seconds away from Jorge Martin in first position.

Quartararo emphasized that there is a new way of working at Yamaha. He praised the new Tuning Fork team technical director, Massimo Bartolini.

Yamaha recruited Bartolini from Ducati. This is inseparable from Yamaha’s poor results last season when they did not win at all, only achieving third place on the podium three times.

“With the new additions, we work differently. The attitude has changed from day to night. For example, during Shakedown, I realized there was a problem with the new features,” said Quartararo at GP One.

“I spoke to Max Bartolini (new technical director), he told me he would find a solution and he could do it.”

“Previously with Japanese mechanics it would not have been possible, it would have been put aside because there was fear of making changes. The mentality must be the same as now, we have to take risks,” said Quarterly add.
