European Football Championship: Cristiano Ronaldo comes back to Harsewinkel

The quarters of the 21 teams that have qualified so far for the European Football Championship in Germany this summer have been determined. The reigning European champion Italy resides in Iserlohn, according to a publication by the European football association UEFA. Spain moves into accommodation in Donaueschingen in Baden-Württemberg, England in Blankenhain in Thuringia and France in Paderborn. As was the case during the 2006 World Cup, Portugal is staying with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Sporthotel Klosterpforte in Harsewinkel, North Rhine-Westphalia.

“We worked very well with the cities, with the municipalities, with the clubs,” said UEFA competition director Martin Kallen at the SpoBis sports business congress in Hamburg. It is an advantage that Germany has so many training places and training centers. The other European Championship participants are distributed within Germany as follows: Scotland resides in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Hungary in Weiler im Allgäu, Switzerland in Stuttgart, Croatia in Neuruppin, Albania in Kamen, Slovenia in Wuppertal, Denmark in Freudenstadt, Serbia in Augsburg, the Netherlands in Wolfsburg, Austria in Berlin, Belgium in Ludwigsburg, Slovakia in Mainz, Romania in Würzburg, Turkey in Barsinghausen and the Czech Republic in Norderstedt.

A total of 24 teams will take part in the European Championship. The tournament will take place from June 14th to July 14th in ten German cities. The games are played in Berlin, Hamburg, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Gelsenkirchen, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
