Like previous years, the Dutch Badminton Championships are also organized this year in Almere. “The National Championships went well,” Badminton Netherlands reports. “Hundreds of visitors came to Almere this weekend to enjoy top badminton.”
In the Topsportcentrum in Almere Poort, Chloë Mayer managed to win the Dutch title for the first time. The 22-year-old player from Duinwijck defeated Amy Tan in the final 26-24, 21-13. There were many new winners this year. “We have a new Dutch champion in four of the five events.”
During the championships you could also participate in side events. There was an inspiration session for trainers, a youth tournament and a recreational tournament. The National Championships were a success and there were no special reactions from the public.
