Ducati Dominance and Yamaha’s Struggle: Fabio Quartararo’s Outlook on MotoGP 2024

Sepang

Ducati is believed to still dominate MotoGP 2024. Fabio Quartararo said that his main enemy was himself, not Francesco Bagnaia or Marc Marquez.

The French rider has just participated in the launch of the Yamaha team for this year’s championship in Sepang. The Japanese manufacturer will try to recover after failing to be competitive throughout 2023.

Yamaha did not win once, neither in the sprint race nor in the main race. Yamaha’s best achievement was only finishing third in Sunday’s three races, all of which were thanks to Quartararo.

Back to back world champion, Bagnaia, will be the favorite again in MotoGP 2024. The competition will get hotter because Marc Marquez is believed to be immediately competitive after joining Gresini. Quarterly himself was not immediately dropped despite his difficulties last season.

However, Quartararo doesn’t want to think about competing for the title. This former Petronas SRT rider just wants to concentrate on improving Yamaha’s performance first.

“Right now I don’t really look at who the number one enemy is. I’m focused on us, on getting back to winning ways and back on the podium, almost in every race,” said the 2021 MotoGP champion as quoted GPOne.

“For me now, the main enemy is myself and Yamaha, who need to be competitive again to compete for victory,” said Fabio Quartararo.
