Double Humiliation Averted: HSV Ultras’ podium stolen and almost defeated by Hansa Rostock in promotion race

Double humiliation averted.

Before the away game in Rostock, a fan podium was stolen from the Volksparkstadion and then Hansa almost stole a point from HSV in the promotion race. The two northern clubs split 2-2.

Rostock turned the lead through Dompé (34th minute) with goals from Perea (50th) and Gudjohnsen (84th). HSV-Knipser Glatzel (86th/15th goal of the season) still manages to equalize the final score.

In Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion, before HSV’s away game at Hansa Rostock, an HSV-Ultras lead singer’s podium was stolen and put up “as a gift” on the auction portal Ebay. An HSV spokesman confirmed this to the German Press Agency (dpa).

Fans of opponent Hansa Rostock could be responsible for the crime. On Saturday, the “Kurvenhelden” platform published a picture of a metal podium with blue HSV stickers that is supposed to stand in front of the Ostseestadion.

The exact background is unclear. According to the portal, the incident is said to have occurred during the week around the Europa League game between the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and Olympique Marseille (2:2).

After all: The HSV Ultras could get their podium back on Ebay. The ad says: “Hello! On behalf of the ‘Nordtribüne Hamburg’ we are giving away 2 climbing frames. Due to HSV’s sporting performance and the negative mood in the north stand, the ‘Förderkreis Nordtribüne’ would like to part with it. To make it easier for the youngsters, they have already been dismantled and are ready for collection near the Ostseestadion. Please let us know how many helpers you are coming with. As you can see, OUR YOUTH are not walking around HH confused.”

Podium and protest at Hansa!

In Rostock there were (of course) demonstrations again against investors joining the DFL. The FCH fans had remote-controlled cars with blue and white smoke flares drive onto the pitch. The game was briefly interrupted as a result. A similar action took place on Friday in 1. FC Cologne’s first division game against Werder Bremen (0-1).
