DFL investor deal: How the fans were able to win

Maybe in the end the small SC Paderborn made the big deal impossible. There were around 550 East Westphalians who met on Monday in Paderborn’s “Schützenhof” for the general meeting and told their second division club, which had previously been in favor of the DFL’s investor business: Do everything to prevent this deal.

It was therefore obvious that a new vote would probably not result in a new two-thirds majority. On Wednesday, the DFL completed the project that has employed so many people in recent weeks and disrupted games from Kiel to Munich. Without a new vote, directly, definitively. “The deal is dead,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke. After everything that happened, he could no longer be saved.
