Full stadium, millions watching TV, the players excited to make it to the DFB Cup semi-finals. And then came the cold shower: Saarbrücken against Gladbach was canceled on Wednesday evening a few minutes before kick-off.
The pitch was unplayable due to constant rain. The many leaf blowers that were supposed to blow the water from the fields didn’t help either.
The game has now been rescheduled.
The DFB has scheduled the game for Tuesday, March 12th at 8:30 p.m.
Because the third division game against Unterhaching was canceled for Sunday, Saarbrücken is looking for a test opponent for the weekend. None have been found so far. Curious: The Saarlanders have a total of three catch-up games coming up in the next few weeks.
