Rome-Rosa De Marco’s journey continues at the Bwf Para Badminton World Championships 2024, the last world event before the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. The Sicilian athlete prevails over the Peruvian Rojas Golac with a score of 21-6, 21-6 and accesses the final stages of the tournament.

Yuri Ferrigno also did well, who in the mixed doubles paired with the Peruvian Pilar Jauregui Cancino, won the difficult match against the Thais Kokakot Maiwijit and Onanong Phraikaeo after three sets (17-21, 21-12, 21-12).

Being with these athletes, sharing lunches and dinners, wearing the same shirt that represents our country, goes beyond any sporting result. Whatever the final result, there will be no disappointment because we have already won our game, which is to be there”, declared Yuri Ferrigno.

Nothing to be done, however, for Vincenzo Contemi, who was surpassed in Group E of the men’s table by the Israeli Konstantin Afinogenov 6-21, 6-21.

In the men’s doubles, Contemi and Piero Rosario Suma were defeated by the Indians Khalid – Kumar 6-21, 8-21.

If in the women’s singles things are going well for De Marco, in the doubles paired with Ivanova the road to the title came to a halt against the Indians Joshi – Murugesan (3-21, 10-21).
