City Council of Cúllar Vega Grants Subsidies to Nine Cultural and Sports Associations for Ninth Consecutive Year

The City Council of Cúllar Vega and the Department of Sports have granted subsidies to nine cultural and sports associations. The City Council and the Department are beneficiaries of this aid for the ninth and seventh consecutive year, allowing the associations to continue developing their activity.

Felipe Pérez, Councilor for Culture, declares that “this year we have increased aid to be able to help our sports clubs and associations.” Some of the beneficiaries will be the Vega de Granada Handball Club, the Cúllar Vega Rhythmic Club, the Cúllar Vega Table Tennis CD, the Tomoe Judo CD and the Cúllar Vega Base CD. Total, sports associations have received €22,000. In addition, six young elite athletes will receive scholarships, the amount varying according to the merits achieved. The selected athletes are Iván Puertas and David Puertas (table tennis), Hugo Molina and Silvia Molina (swimming), Jorge Gómez (judo) and Adrián Arroyo (table tennis).

With respect to cultural associations, they have received a total of 7,000 euros that will be awarded to the Los Auroros Cultural Association, the Los Amigos Culleros Costaleros Association, the Los Pellejeros Cultural Association and the Peña Flamenca Franquito Yerbabuena. Each organization will receive between 1,000 and 3,400 euroswhich will contribute to the development of their planned activities.

María Ángeles Polo, Councilor for Culture, states that these subsidies “allow all associations and clubs in our municipality to continue developing their activities throughout the year, which contributes to energizing the cultural and sporting life of our municipality.” They assure in the official statement sent to the press that during the 2024-2025 call, 6,000 more will be allocated to this aid, leaving a total of 35,000 euros.
