Cipulis and Miknis Compete in Bobsleigh Races: Results and Preparations for Future Competitions

Cipulis/Miknis completed the course in 56.02 seconds in the first race, achieving the fourth fastest time. The sled piloted by the German Francesco Friedrich won the trip with a result of 55.65 seconds, six hundredths of a second ahead of compatriot Adam Amour and the two piloted by the South Korean Jinsu Kim by 0.28 seconds.

Cipulis completed the second race with the tenth fastest time and dropped to fifth place, losing 0.90 seconds to the winners in the sum of the two races.

The victory was won by the Germans Amours and Laurenc Kosta, who completed the second race the fastest and finished in one minute and 51.41 seconds in the sum of two races. They were ahead of the two piloted by Friedrich by 0.18 seconds and Kim by 0.61 seconds. The Swiss with pilot Cedric Folador (+0.81) finished fourth in the 21-crew competition, while another German, Christoph Hafer (+0.95), finished sixth.

Kalenda and Ungur were disqualified before the race due to excessive crew weight.

Another German favorite, Johannes Lochner, did not start due to a fall in training.

The Cipulis duo had achieved their best results so far this season in the first stage in China and at the St. Moritz circuit in Switzerland, taking fifth place, while he finished sixth at the Eagles circuit in Austria. Kalenda, on the other hand, achieved his best result in Lillehammer, when he finished in ninth position.

Last week, at the European Championship in Sigulda, the Latvian crews got into the top eight, the Cipulis pilot duo took the seventh place, and the Kalenda crew took the eighth place.

On Sunday, the foursome competition will take place in Altenberg.

Next week, the world championship will be held on the German track in Altenberg.
