Bulls Sweep Pelicans in Regular Season Series: Vucevic Leads Chicago to Victory

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Nikola Vucevic had 22 points and 12 rebounds for his 31st double-double of the season and the Chicago Bulls beat the New York Pelicans 114-106 on Sunday to sweep the regular-season series.

DeMar DeRozan scored 24 points, including a three-pointer from left with 30 seconds left to give the Bulls a 111-106 lead. Ayo Desunmu added 21 points for Chicago, which also had a slight advantage at the free throw line, going 19 of 21, while New Orleans was 10 of 14.

Zion Williamson scored 19 points and tied his career high with 11 assists, as well as nine rebounds for the Pelicans, who lost for the second straight game after winning eight of nine. Brandon Ingram, who returned after missing two games due to illness, had 22 points and Jonas Valanciunas had 14 points and 17 rebounds for New Orleans.

New Orleans was without two important players, including starting point guard CJ McCollum, who left Friday’s loss to Miami with a sprained left ankle.
