There will be four distances proposed, demonstrating how the organization wants to tell the uniqueness of its territory to the widest possible audience: the 45 km of the Banfi Trophy (difference in altitude: 1820 m+), the 24 km of the Val di Suga Trophy (altitude difference: 1100 m+), the 14 km of the Barbi Trophy (altitude difference: 650 m+) and the 13 km of the Walk Nordic & Walking Trophy, a non-competitive walk for everyone with a scheduled start in Torrenieri di Montalcino.
IMPORTANT NUMBERS – The Brunello Crossing, edition after edition, is finding an increasingly important space in the national trail calendar and this is demonstrated by the number of participants which continues to grow year after year and by the regions and countries of origin: in addition to Tuscany, Lazio , Lombardy and Campania will be the most represented territories but there will be no shortage of enthusiasts arriving in Montalcino from numerous European and non-European countries (Germany, United States, Poland, Canada, Great Britain, France, Brazil, Romania, Holland, Ukraine).
SATURDAY 10 FEBRUARY, THE PROGRAM – The Brunello Crossing will be a weekend to be experienced in one go, including running, good food and good wine and various interesting initiatives to immerse yourself in the peculiarities of these lands. On Saturday at 2.00 pm, in the Cloister of the Sant’Agostino Museum Complex – with entrance from via Boldrini in Montalcino, the Expo will open and the delivery of bibs for all four distances will begin. Then in the afternoon, at 5pm at the Teatro degli Astrusi you can attend, with the presence of the author, the presentation of Roberto Riccio’s book “Race and consciousness: an encounter in the heart”. Following this, the kids from the Sterrato Gang community will be the protagonists of a live podcast in which they will talk about the Craft Running Tour project, in which the Mayor of Montalcino Silvio Franceschelli and the Marketing Director of Craft Italia Alessio Ranallo will intervene, among others.
SUNDAY 11 FEBRUARY, THE PROGRAM – the spotlight will be focused on the starting times of the three competitive tests: at 8:00 the start will be given to the Banfi Trophy, at 10:00 it will be the turn of the Val di Suga Trophy while the Barbi Trophy will start at 10:45. The Walk Nordic & Walking Trophy will be divided into three starts, starting from 9.30 every half hour.
