Brittany Ferries completes the improvement of the ‘Armorique’ in the Port of Santander |

The maritime operator Brittany Ferries has completed the maintenance and adaptation work of the ship ‘Armorique’ at the shipyard facilities located in the Port of Santander (Spain). Every year, this facility welcomes at least one of this French company’s ships to carry out maintenance work, adjustments to European regulations or for preparation.

In 1978, Brittany Ferries made its first trip between Santander and Plymouth. Since then, the company has contributed to the economic growth of Cantabria in various ways, one of them is through Astander, which has established itself as one of the shipping company’s trusted shipyards.

As for the ship ‘Armorique’, which was inaugurated in 2008, it has a capacity to transport up to 1,500 passengers and 470 vehicles. Likewise, like other ships in the group, the ‘Armorique’ is equipped with the latest environmental and fuel saving technologies, which allows CO2 emissions to be minimized.

As part of the improvements made during its stay at the shipyard, a total of 18 cabins dedicated to the transport of pets have been installed, 10 of these interior cabins and eight exterior cabins with windows. Each of these cabins has the capacity to accommodate up to four people along with their pet.

In addition to this improvement project, it is worth mentioning that Brittany Ferries has also carried out the annual technical stop of its ship ‘Pont-Aven’. The operator is preparing to carry out major improvements to its flagship, which began operating in 2004.
