Breaking Barriers: Inclusive Handball Training for People with Disabilities in Aargau

Freiämter handball clubs set an example for inclusion: First training for people with disabilities in Aargau

Across Switzerland there are a few handball teams made up of people with disabilities. But still far too few. TV Muri Handball, HC Mutschellen and Handball Wohlen now want to change that. The Wohler Stephan Jaeggi and his son Silvan made sure of that.

Silvan Jaeggi is 15 years old and was a passionate handball player. Was, because he was only able to play in children’s handball until a few years ago. After that, there was no league that he would have fit into. Silvan has Down syndrome. The sport of handball was something he was born with. His sisters are both handball players. His father Stephan Jaeggi was known as the goalkeeper for the Wohler first team for years. Today both parents support the club wherever they can.
