Boxing: Heavyweight Tricolore on Friday in Ferrara – Other Sports

Next Friday, February 16th at 8.00 pm, boxing returns at the Palapalestre in via Porta Catene in Ferrara. At the center of the program, organized by Massimiliano Duran and which has the patronage of the Fpi, there is the rematch valid for the Italian heavyweight championship between the undefeated 34-year-old holder Gianmarco Cardillo (11-0-2; 2 knockouts), of Cassino, soldier in the Granatieri di Sardegna, and the home challenger, the equally undefeated peer Emanule Venturelli (7-0-1; 1 knockout), of the Padana Boxing team.

The two already faced each other on March 25 last year and at the end of a very intense fight a draw verdict was reached which left both boxers dissatisfied.

So now here is the rematch, which will see on the one hand the heavy physical structure, the experience and the serenity of the Italian champion, and on the other the greater speed and variety of shots of Venturelli, physically less powerful than his opponent, at which yields about ten kilos. In any case, this is again a confrontation with an uncertain outcome.

The meeting in Ferrara has other matches on the bill, including the one that will see the flyweight originally from the Gaza Strip, but now ‘rooted’ in Ferrara, Ahmed Obaid, who will face an insidious rival like the Bosnian Muhamed Biberovic.
