Great weekend for Badminton Oviedo, which won five medals in its two events, the Absolute Master of Granollers and the Andalusian Benalmádena International under-15. In Granollers, the Oviedo team added two medals in the senior category. In men’s doubles, Vicente Gázquez and Marcos García beat the first seeds, Fran Olivares and Jaume Pérez, in two exciting sets (21-18 and 21-19). They fell in the final against Rubén García and Carlos Piris, but they proved their worth. On the other hand, Laura Álvarez, who was paired with Elena Lorenzo, from Drop Valencia, qualified for the women’s doubles final by eliminating two players from the Oviedo National League team, Amaia Torralba and Jana Villanueva. In the match for gold they lost to Nerea Ivorra and Claudia Leal.
