Two men were arrested by the GIGN in Saint-Thurial on Sunday in connection with the alleged murder of a man in his thirties. The two individuals are suspected of having violently attacked two men with a baseball bat, resulting in the death of one of them. They were arrested not far from the scene.

The victims, aged 30 and 38, were attacked as they arrived by car. The motive for the attack remains unknown at this stage of the investigation, but the authorities have opened an investigation into intentional homicide and violence with a weapon to shed light on this matter.

Suspects in custody

The 30-year-old man, involved in local life and who was going to become a father, died instantly. The second victim was transported to the emergency room and is out of danger. “The two men were friends and neither of them had been talked about before” according to prosecutor Philippe Astruc.

The two suspects, previously unknown to the police, were taken into police custody to be questioned about their alleged involvement in this criminal act. Authorities are actively working to reconstruct the events and identify the motives behind this violent attack.
