Argentina U17 Men’s Basketball Team Begins Preparation for World Cup

From February 21 to March 2, the National Center for High Sports Performance (CeNARD) will host the Development Campus for U17 men, which serves as the kickoff for a year ahead, in addition to a lot of work and preparation, the World Cup in Turkey, to be held from June 29 to July 7 in Istanbul.

For this call, the first of the year for the group and the second for the men’s branch, coach Juan Pablo Fernández arranged a roster of 18 players that includes five of the twelve young people who last year achieved World Cup qualification in the FIBA Americas U18 that was held in Mérida, Mexico. There, the National Team, which was also led by Fernández, defeated the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinals to obtain a ticket to the U17 World Cup and then finished in fourth place in the competition. Iván Prato from Cordoba was chosen in the ideal quintet.

For this first instance, the coaching staff ordered the call for the majority of players who work in our country with the exception of Matías Trouet, from Portugal and brother of Santiago, member of the U19 National Team that last year obtained fifth place. .
