Apuan Archers Triumph at Italian Indoor Archery Championships: Valter Basteri and Frecce Apuane Lead the Way

MASS. Valter Basteri and the Frecce Apuane on the roof of Italy, Arcieri Fivizzano close behind. Other great satisfactions for the Apuan archers who dominated the Italian indoor archery championships, which took place from 15 to 18 February in Pordenone. In the end, three class titles and the overall team title arrived. But let’s go in order.
The individual world title in the Male Master Barebow category went to Valter Basteri, who confirms himself as one of the strongest archers at national level, as demonstrated by his call-up to the national team for the next European championships scheduled in Croatia from 20 to 25 February next. An event that could really give Valter other very important successes, clearly at an international level, after those already obtained in 2022 with the conquest of the team silver medal in the European Championships held in Slovenia.
That said, the team world title also came in the Nude Bow category in the Master Men’s category, with the trio composed of Valter Basteri himself, Daniele Bruni and Angelo Rappelli. In addition to this, the bearers of the Frecce Apuane also took home the prestigious title of Absolute Italian Team Champion, repeating last year’s success, prevailing in the final with a very clear 6 – 0 over the Arco Sport Roma trio.
The splendid day for the Apuan athletes was then further embellished by the team world title of the Fivizzano Archers again in the Senior Male Barebow category, thanks to the trio Olivieri, Bellotti and Cimoli. In short, once again the Apuan athletes dominated, winning the first world titles up for grabs this year.
